Greetings!   The Hispanic Leadership Coalition of Northeast Indiana (HLCNI) is a non-profit organization that works to support the Latino community and has been active for more than 20 years within the local area. While we typically host an HLCNI Annual Noche de Gala (Night of Gala) to celebrate scholarship recipients, this year we decided to cancel the 2020 celebration. As painful as the decision was, we know it is not nearly as painful as for those who must make the daily decision to sacrifice their lives as essential workers. With recent developments surrounding COVID-19, we believe this to be best.
With community support, HLCNI will continue to collect funds to award scholarships to ten deserving students for the 2020-21 academic school year. To date, HLCNI has provided scholarships to over 100 students in Northeastern Indiana, with the majority of our scholarship recipients coming from low to moderate income families. Your donations will continue to provide these young leaders with the opportunity to work toward their education and follow their dreams.
In response to the current pandemic, HLCNI will also collect funds to support DACA, (Deferred Action Childhood Arrivals) students within our community. Financial relief will be collected for students to apply for DACA renewal fees.
